The vlog aftermath….
Once again, I’ve just finished nights. And, seeing as I need to do some washing, I’ll stay up and type for a bit. you know, it gets a sad state of affairs, when you use the washer as enough time to sit down and write a blog. I’ve been on nights, so very little has happened since I made the video log.
and can I now, humbly apologise for how bad it was. For those of you who endured it, my hats off to you. It truly was an appaling waste of disk space. It’s made me question whether it should ever return
Soooo, as I can’t think of anything to type about, let’s flick through the recent comments on the last vlog, as it only seems fair.
Owen:
very good, and full of facts… I now know all about wash houses. and oooooooo loverly street light its great.
Yes, the streetlight. Probably the highlight of the whole thing. It’s currently being renovated, but not by me. More on that later, if I have time before the spin cycle. but, seeing as our washer’s being a twat anyway, it probably won’t reach the spin cycle.
Glen:
If I did have ine suggestion, I would say making the editing tighter.
I quite like the jerky approach of my editing. Sometimes I just do it for fun. but yes, I admit, there’s a lot which could have been removed from that. But it’s hard to edit in Windows Movie Maker. (HINT, HINT)
Chad:
Get out, enjoy the weather, take a walk, meet some friends, take a train somewhere more often. Makes your blog a little more interesting.
FFS. I say “I’m in Carlisle!!!” once, and you think every video posting is going to be the same? Anyway, I did attempt to take a train somewhere, but I found I couldn’t lift it off the track. Um. As for the weather, I will enjoy it, by allowing it to dry my washing.
Others seem to have been hypnotised by the fact I moved from side so side through the whole tape.
Crag2084:
Did you need a crap when you filmed that, your doing alot of swaying side to side.
Mick:
tell the truth jamie, your actually on a prirate ship
Dave:
You get sea sick watching that, to quote Pink Floyd “Stand still laddie” ;-)
I’ve been meaning to ask, what is the tune at the start?
Well, yes. I did move a bit. Quite a bit. And for that, I apologise once again. I can’t blame the beer, as that one you see me drinking on the video was my first one. It was all subconscious, and I didn’t realise I was doing it until I played it back. It’s probably due to the fact I was doing things a bit different (the way I recorded it was different to normal) and I wasn’t sure if it would turn out well. Normally, when I record myself, I leave the webcam showing so I can see what’s going on. For whatever reason, it wasn’t working that time, otherwise I’d have probably noticed it.
As for the music, it’s an old Amiga mod, which I have chopped and changed to suit the opening sequence, though I’ve been using it in different forms for various projects since 1999. I don’t think I have the original anymore, and I can’t remember its name.
Sadly, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for said music…
Owen (again)
Percy I think i’m going to try and find some chip music that is actually worse than the your title music… It might be hard cos thats shite…
Oh, you love it really.
So, there we have it. In summary…
You, the viewers, liked the streetlight.
You, the viewers, found that the setting of the video was an interesting place
You, the viewers, thought it was too long
You, the viewers, didn’t think there were enough lifting of trains involved
You, the viewers, liked the music
You, the viewers, hated the music
That gives me a lot to think about. Ahem.
EDIT 1
Oooh, it’s a while since I “extended” a post. A couple of other things did cross my mind. Yesterday, I did completely mess up the site, so apologies if anyone got caught in that. I had a “plugin” which allowed people to submit my posts to digg.com, etc. I editied it, as I thought it was a bit pointless, and it killed the entire site. Every post showed up as empty, with just the title showing, and didn’t realise for 6 hours.
I don’t think it affected the RSS feed, though. If you click that in Firefox, it asks you if you want to add it to Google Reader. How handy.
