Oh no! I think I’m getting a cold!
Well, that’s a bit of a damp squib to end what has been one hell of a week off. Thursday was the key day, as, after 8 years in the RAOB, I’d finally plucked up enough courage to go through my “raising”. Not going to say too much, as I’m not too sure what I can say, but let’s just say there must have been something special going on for me to dress like this:-

So, everything else for the rest of the week somehow revolved around it. And, because of it, I’ve been out every night this week.
Other things happened. I’ve bought lots and lots of music. For whatever reason, I’ve gone on a proper CD buying binge, both online and from local shops. In fact, my last one was yesterday.
I walked past the record shop on my way to get another delectable Greggs corned beef pasty. For whatever reason, there are two Greggs stores in our town centre for reasons I’ve never really thought of before. but anyway, moving on…
In I went, to the shop. I was greeted by the happy lyrics of “Bear Necessities” (thankfully NOT the Gary Wilmott version) followed by “Hi-ho, it’s home from work we go” (those are the correct lyrics. Dwarf or not, you would not sing a happy tune on your way to work. Next up was “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King”. I had to stop myself from singing along.
Like most places these days, it also sells DVD’s. Really, really cheaply. One of the reasons of this, is that they get stocks of stuff they technically shouldn’t sell, i.e. DVD’s that were intended for rental. In fact, my copy of “Sex Lives of the Potato Men” clearly states “RENTAL ONLY” on the disk. It’s not a mistake because the receipt had “Rental” printed on there too.

I didn’t see any DVD’s I fancied. I have a backlog of about 10 films to watch, so it’s probably for the best. However, today, they were doing CD collections for £4.99 or 3 for a tenner..So, I got two, along with The Strokes’ “Room On Fire”, which was also in the offer. They were also selling individual CDs from some other compilations too, for 99p each. So I grabbed myself disks 3, 4 and 6 of the “Ultimate Old Skool Album”. They were the only ones they had. Maybe they’ll get the rest of the disks in some other time…
I’ve also been going through a bit of a Mike Oldfield phase after hearing his new album “Light And Shade” which I subsequently ordered, and I’m just waiting for it to come. hopefully, it’ll be tomorrow., because it was posted yesterday from Jersey (can you guess where I ordered it from?)
In other news, I’ve been using Google Earth far too much. It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen, multiplied by the second best thing, then stuck in a room with a bookful of good ideas and a packet of lovely crayons.
I’m off now, because this cold has gotten steadily worse since I started typing. Sigh.
